It was a year that can be summed up like no other. At BossMan, we rode the wave of 2020 with gusto – from Tiger King and Zooms, through to lockdowns and the eeriness that was Richmond without a Grand Final at the G.
But in what was a year of many lows, we as a team celebrated many highs, and below, we take a look at the accounts we won, the campaigns we’ve done and the many celebrations we had with some classic BossMan fun.
Going, going, GONG!
We had the awesome opportunity of working with MS on their annual MS Gong Ride. BossMan took on the marketing for their NEW Virtual ride, developing a national communication and advertising strategy for the event including, social media and digital display campaigns, eDMs and the acquisition of multiple grassroots partnerships. The entire BossMan team even joined in and took part in the ride, with our collective efforts contributing to the $759,201 raised by the 1,713 registrants of the 2020 Gong Ride Virtual.
It’s never too late to… Gro.
We worked Gro from conception to execution of an engaging TV commercial to promote Australia’s leading hair growth specialists. The concept (quite literally) grew from brainstorms and ideas in our heads to a fabulous, animated commercial which the team are very proud of.
International Overdose Awareness Day: Penington Institute.
BossMan was engaged to promote International Overdose Awareness Day for Penington Institute, which connects lived experience and research to improve community safety in relation to drugs. We garnered significant media exposure for Penington, securing media on SBS, 7NEWS, 9 News, Sky News and more. Our social strategy consisted of personalised creative which spoke to everyday people, highlighting the real facts and figures behind the highly stigmatized and misunderstood issue of drug dependence and overdose.
Glen Dimplex Australia comes on as a social media client!
After looking after Glen Dimplex’s national PR strategy for the last eight years, the BossMan team went full steam ahead with the appointment of Glen Dimplex’s organic social media for their key five brands. From kettles to ovens, toasters and fireplaces, we created some wow content that truly brought their brands to life. Watch this space for when we launch Belling’s new Summer eBook in addition to Glen Dimplex’s products being featured in an array of renovation projects in 2021!
You’ve made the right move: Stockdale and Leggo.
WIN 25K worth of household goods? Say no more.
We developed Stockdale & Leggo’s creative concept for their Summer promotion with consumers having the chance to win 25K worth of household goods leading into Christmas; even Santa would be jealous of this haul! Over a six-week period, people looking to sell their homes were driven online to book an appraisal with Stockdale & Leggo, and as you can imagine, activity went through the roof! Oh, and our new slogan, ‘you’ve made the right move’ firmly planted S&L on the mind shelf of consumers.
A truly lit concept.
We teamed up with Simpli-U Candles for a total rebrand of their business, from a fresh logo, to packaging and of course a new website (Shopify worthy of course). Working closely with Simpli-U’s owners, we started with lots of research, brainstorms (which involved some obligatory candle smelling) before we came to a truly finessed concept.

Construction begins on a new website for MC Labour!
The reigns were given to BossMan to design and develop a new website for MC Labour, specialists in hiring skilled personnel for the building and construction industry as well as the traffic and security sectors. Our team is extremely excited to work with a company such as MC Labour, a clear leader in their industry employing some 20,000 talented people across a broad range of sectors.
The website is currently ‘under construction’, so watch this space for the big launch early this year!
Hornet grows new pipes, expanding its reach in the property industry.
Previously named Hornet Plumbing, BossMan is re-hauling the brand positioning and communication strategy to illustrate Hornet’s service offerings which expand beyond just plumbing. Our team relishes the opportunity to bring brands better longevity and success, after all, it’s what pushes us to do the best for all our clients every day! So what was once Hornet Plumbing, now has become Hornet Property Services, complete with a newly crafted logo, specific sub-brands to give a clear identity for each service, and a brand-new website.
PUT YOUR HANDS UP for KIDS Foundation!
Our team put their hands up without hesitation to launch the very first fundraising campaign for this awesome foundation, whose aim is to keep children safe and create a better life for those living with serious trauma or injury. This year will see us working with some very high-profile ambassadors and some very ‘handy’ accessories being created to raise money. We can’t wait for you to see what we achieve with the KIDS Foundation.
